Please note that I didn't write most of these, a friend of mine did. I didn't bother to censor it, either, so.. ^.^;

Vanyel: Vanyel is the main character of the book. In book 1, he pretty much acts like a selfish brat. He's 16 years old throughout this book. When he gets shipped off to live with Savil, though, he undergoes some drastic changes..
Savil: Vanyel's aunt, a Herald Mage. We start out seeing her as being very sour towards Vanyel and more kind to Tylendel, but that all changes..
Lord Withen: Vanyel's father, not very bright. He doesn't seem to care about Vanyel very much, he's more interested in rasing a suitable heir.
Lady Treesa: Vanyel's mother. A very, VERY big flirt.
Lissa: Vanyel's loving sister. She'd do anything to protect him.
Radevel: Vanyel's cousin. Once again, not very bright, but still nice.
Yfandes: Vanyel's Companion. She will be VERY important towards the end of this book and later on.
Herald-Mage Jaysen: The Seneschal's Herald. This jerk of a Herald almost got Vanyel killed, but don't blame him, he is not as strong willed as his fellow Heralds, but he is still very helpful in the later series.
Herald-Mage Lancir: The Queen's Own. Feeling his age, Lancir is still a very powerful man. He is also a mindhealer.
Taver: Lancir's Companion. What can I say.. this is a Companion.
Gala: Tylendel's Companion. This Companion belonged to Tylendel until she repudiated him.
Felar: Jaysen's Companion. What can I say.. this is a Companion.
Moondance: Healer Adept and very powerful. Very compassionate.
Starwind: Adept and Moondances' shay'kreth'ashke or lifebonded. Very strong willed.
Kellan: Savil's Companion. What can I say.. this is a Companion.
Hearld-Mage Trainee Merdic: Quick and preoccupied, doesn't talk much. Hearld-Mage Trainee Donni: Kind and compassionate, helps Van through first day.
Lord Evan Leshara: Evil dark person...very good with words. politician all the way...
Bard Breda: Very kind and is very good at what she does...gets dazzle headaches in last book.
Healer Andrel: Very kind and goes along with Savil's judgement. Was Savil's lover a long time ago.
Hearld-Mage Tantras: rather even tempered. Strong of character Delian: Tantras' Companion. Don't think Delian ever mindspoke... Krebain: Kick ass Baddie. Not a good guy, sinuous, silky voice.

Bard Chadran: Spoke to Breda in hall about getting Van into Bardic.
Kayla: Cool guards woman. Strong of character and good hearted.
Armsman Erek: Simpleton escorting Van to Haven.
Armsman Garth: Another simpleton escorting Van to Haven.
Palace Guard1: Met when interrupting Savil to announce arrival of Nephew.
Palace Guard2: Met when interrupting Savil to inform her about the fight.
Prostitute: Met at Inn on the way to Haven. No moral fiber what-so-ever.
Groom: Met when Star wasn't saddled for exile to Haven.
Father Leren: talked about a lot...don,t remember if he spoke in first story. Big character in the second and third books.
Armsmaster Jervis: Met in first few pages... jerk in first story, gets better through series.
Mekeal: second oldest, Van's brother.
Melenna: serving maid to Lady Treesa. ANNOYING.
Joserlin Corveau: slow thinker, very smart...
Kerle: Just kind of there, same w/ next three. One or two lines.

Old holder man: Killed by colddrake.
Young holder woman Menfree: finds Van after killing drake.
Old holder woman: Knows alot takes Van inside and cares for him a bit.
Holder man Phellip: Father of Jo, a simpleton, yet insightful.
Holder boy Jo: Anxious and excited about war is his intro. Van crushes that excitement.
